GuestTrack is Connected to the VIC government Contact Tracing System

GuestTrack is successfully connected to the VIC Department of Health (DH) contact tracing system via the Visitation API, which allows contact tracers to request check-in data directly from the GuestTrack system in the case of Covid-19 outbreak.

From 27 March 2021, VIC businesses using electronic record-keeping must only use QR Code providers who are connected to the API, such as GuestTrack.

Is data disclosure mandatory?

Data disclosure to the Victorian Government is compulsory if:

  • Your business is located in Victoria, and
  • You are using GuestTrack for contact tracing purposes.

  • It is optional for other businesses to participate in this data integration.

What do I need to do if I want to participate in this integration?

You do not need to do anything. The connection to the DH contact tracing system is initiated automatically based on your business location and purpose of using GuestTrack.

In order for you to provide the most accurate information to the DH, please make sure your business address and contact number are up to date in the Management Dashboard.

What information is shared to the DHHS?

Only visitor name, contact number and check-in date and time are shared should an outbreak happen. Other information collected, eg. email, Covid delcaration etc won't be shared.

What will happen in the event of an outbreak

In the event of outbreak, the DH will conduct a search in the database based on

  • check-in data or visitation records from a specific date and time range
  • phone numbers or locations
  • The DH will then get in touch with the relevant visitors and businesses directly.

    Notification on check-in form

Visitors will be informed about the integration when checking into a participating VIC venue.
